NUPUR SHARMA SHOULD PUBLICLY APOLOGISE FOR HER HATE SPEECH : SUPREME COURT

Nupur Sharma, the sacked spokesperson of India's ruling BJP, has been severely reprimanded by the country's Supreme Court for her comments on the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم.

NUPUR SHARMA SUSPENDED SPOKESPERSON OF BJP

The Supreme Court has said that the whole country has become restless due to that one comment of Nupur Sharma. The court also asked her to come on the television screen and apologize to the people unconditionally.

The court said to Nupur Sharma, "The whole country is on fire because of your unbridled speech."

The way the Supreme Court reprimanded Nupur Sharma on Friday, Indian courts have probably not done so in any case in recent times.

A bench of Justice Surya Kant and Justice JB Pardiwala questioned why she went to say those words while sitting in a national television debate. It has also been said that one of her comments has hurt people's emotions across the country.

The lady is solely responsible for what is happening in India now, the court said.

The court also brought up the issue of the brutal murder of a Hindu tailor in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The judges said Mrs Sharma did not know the consequences of her irresponsible remarks.

Courts statments decodes which case?

FIRs have been lodged against Nupur Sharma in many parts of the country over her comments on the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم.. Multiple complaints have been lodged with the police in Kolkata too.

Nupur Sharma went to the Supreme Court to petition that all the cases be heard together in the Supreme Court. The hearing of that application was on Friday.

Nupur Sharma's lawyer had to listen to harsh words about this case in the court. The judges said: "this case shows how arrogant she is - why does Ms Sharma feel that other magistrates in the country are not qualified to take her case?"

The court said that although a complaint had been lodged against him with the police, the fact that she had not yet been arrested , she showed how strong her hand is!

'Clear Agenda'

While the judges were making harsh remarks on Nupur Sharma's lawyer Maninder Singh tried to say that Mrs Sharma had already apologized for the remarks.

After hearing this, the judges reiterated that she had offered a conditional apology - "if it hurts anyone's feelings" - after a time of unrest across the country.

The judges said she should go to the television channel and apologize unconditionally.

Addressing the TV channel on which the controversy was taking place, the judges said that debating whether the matter was pending before on Supreme Court meant that there is a "clear agenda" behind it.

The court dismissed the application and asked Nupur Sharma's lawyer to go to the High Court.

Lawyer Mr. Singh finally picked up the application.
